According to Pacific Power, hundreds of power outages affected about 40,000 customers from Grants Pass to Cave Junction Tuesday, June 19th.
This widespread power outage continued along the Hwy. 199 corridor and into Del Norte County affecting thousands due to a loss of transmission lines.
Pacific Power alerted their customers by “tweet” Tuesday morning stating “The large outage affecting Grants Pass & surrounding areas was caused by damage in a substation”.
Power was restored to most locations by the afternoon.
