Early Tuesday morning, February 4th, U.S. Coast Guard Sector Humboldt Bay launched their ‘ready crew’ to an incident involving a box truck in the Garcia River, south of Fort Bragg, near Point Arena.
Upon arrival to the scene, the driver of a box truck and his dog were observed stranded on top of the truck after the box truck was washed off the road and into the swollen Garcia River.

The crew arrived on scene and hoisted the both the driver and his dog from the top of truck as rushing flood waters rushed around the truck, safely delivering them to awaiting EMS personnel on shore.
