The high energy Bruin girls basketball team wasted no time looking to create a point gap early after the tip-off, using their hustle to do just that, extending an eight point lead in the first half of the first period while the Bruin girls defense shut down the Lady Knights offense holding them to just three points in the quarter.

Senior point guard, Amelia Bruce, #0, driving into the Lady Knights defense for 2 points.

As the second period started with the Bruin girls holding an early 13-3 lead, it appeared to be a continuation of the first period as the Bruin girls put up four points extending their lead to 17-6 in the first half of the second period. But the Lady Knights turned up their intensity, disrupting the Bruin girls offense hitting for ten points in the period to close the gap to just six, sending the girls to locker room with the Bruin girls holding onto a 19-13 lead.

Freshman Sawyer Adams, hitting from the top of the key for 2 of her 8 points.

Bruin girls adjustments led to six points to start the third period extending their lead to 25-15 midway through the third. But the Lady Knights would rally late in the third, defensively holding the Bruin girls to just 2 points in the second half of the third while hitting for nine points to make the score 27-22 going into the final period.

Senior guard, Jaiden Babb applying defensive pressure, had 3 points in the game.

The fourth period was a shoot out as the Lady Knights took a one point 27-28 lead before the Bruin girls would tie it up at 29-29 midway through the fourth period. The Bruin girls applied a full court press at the midway point challenging the Lady Knights as they advanced the ball, creating turnovers and fast break opportunities as the Bruin girls put up 7 points in the final minutes to secure the 36-30 win.

Junior forward, #32, Ella Reneau, in the paint for 2 of 7 points on the night.

The now 3-1 Bruin girls are on the road next, traveling to Medford to take on a strong 3-0 Cascade Christian Lady Challenger team with tip-off set for 7:00pm Friday evening.
