Early Thursday afternoon, January 9th, Medford Fire Department responded to initial reports of a two-alarm structure fire on the 300 block of Front Street in downtown Medford.
Upon arrival of first responding fire crews at approximately 1:15pm, the blaze was upgraded to a three-alarm structure fire prompting mutual aid responses from multiple agencies including Jackson County Fire District 3, Jackson County Fire District No. 5, Jacksonville Fire Department, and the Medford Police Department.
Just over an hour later, authorities reported that the building was unoccupied and the fire had been contained to the building of origin.
Crews were expected to remain on-site for an extended period of time to fully address remaining hot spots as efforts shifted to overhaul operations, and that some fire companies were being released from the scene.
No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
