Shooting at Grants Pass Apartment Complex Prompts Multiple Authority Investigation

At approximately 9:30pm Tuesday evening, December 17th, the Grants Pass Police Department received multiple calls reporting shots being fired at an address on Rogue River Highway.  

Grants Pass Police officers immediately responded to the scene and located multiple bullet casings in the parking lot of an apartment complex, however, the suspects had fled before the officers’ arrival.  

Grants Pass Police Detectives and the Chief Deputy Attorney for the Josephine County District Attorney’s Office conducted the investigation due to the seriousness of the shooting. Preliminary investigation determined that multiple gunshots were fired at occupied apartments, however, no persons were struck by gunfire.

The Oregon State Police Crime Lab collected numerous items of evidence from the scene and the investigation continues with additional assistance from the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, Rogue Area Drug Enforcement team, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.  

The suspect(s) in this case are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information or video should contact the Grants Pass Police Department at 541-450-6260.
