Jackson County Sheriff’s Office detectives have revealed that a shooting in White City Tuesday night, occurred during a home invasion robbery.
Detectives say on March 20, 2018, James Steven Bennett, 30, and at least one other accomplice went to the apartment with the intent to commit a crime. At about 8:19 p.m., Bennett called 911 to request medical attention.
Detectives have identified the shooter, a resident of an apartment in the 7600-block of Division Road. He is cooperating with the investigation. His name will not be released at this time.
Deputies found him in the area of Division Road and Carr Street. Bennett was transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. He remains in the hospital at the time of this report.
