At approximately 8:00am, Tuesday morning, June 11th, the Oregon State Police along with the Curry County Sheriff’s Office responded to Humbug State Park regarding reports of a deceased hiker.
Upon arrival, initial investigation revealed that a hiker located a deceased female subject in the Humbug State Park on the hiking trail located six miles south of Port Orford, Oregon.
Authorities established a secure scene for the investigation of the death as an Oregon State Detective and the Coos County Medical Examiner responded to the scene.
The deceased female, identified as 43 year old Ana Gefvert of Penn Grove, California, was listed as a missing person out of Roseville, California.
There were no indication of foul play in the preliminary investigation, and a next of kin notification was conducted by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. Further investigation will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
