A Medford Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle at the intersection of 4th and Apple in Medford. The suspect vehicle quickly changed into a clear lane and then attempted to elude the officer on 4th street.
The suspect vehicle drove approximately one block and then ran the red light at 4th and Riverside, hitting a van traveling northbound on Riverside. The accident tipped the van over on its side and forced it into a light pole and electrical box.
The driver of the van was trapped inside of his vehicle for over an hour until the Medford Fire Department was able to extricate him. The driver of the van was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
In addition to the injury in the involved vehicle, there were a total of 4 people inside the suspect vehicle, and 2 of the 4 were also transported by ambulance to local hospitals for apparent non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the suspect vehicle that eluded Police, 24 yr old Adrian Alex Enriquez, was not one of the injured parties and was arrested at the scene. He was transported to the county jail and lodged.
24 yr old Adrian Alex Enriquez is being held on charges of Attempt to Elude Police Officer, Reckless Driving, Four counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Three counts of Assault 3, Post Prison Violation – Eluding Police Officer.
