Authorities Locate Meth, Weapons, Cash, and Stolen Property During Service of Search Warrant

A search warrant was served Friday, May 17th, at a Roy Avenue address in southern Crescent City by multiple agencies including the Crescent City Police Department and the California Highway Patrol.  

Numerous items of drug paraphernalia, several firearms, stolen property and close to a pound of methamphetamine packaged for sales were located by officers during a search of the residence.

Several stolen tools, identified as being linked to a burglary that occurred on Cushing Avenue earlier that morning, were also discovered at the residence and Del Norte County Sheriffs Deputies were able to seize the items and return them to the owner.  

Five individuals were arrested during the service of the warrant including 51 year old Sonny Ortman, who was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sales, maintaining a residence for the use and sales of a controlled substance, possession of a loaded firearm while in possession of a controlled substance, felon in possession of a firearm, and being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition.  

40 year old Jolene Hanson, was also arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance for sales, and possession of drug paraphernalia as well as 47 year old John Pires, arrested for being in possession of drug paraphernalia, 45 year old Katherine Fitzpatrick, who was arrested for being in possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance paraphernalia, and maintaining a place for the use and sales of a controlled substance, and 34 year old Roshieak Stuart, arrested on an outstanding warrant, and for being in possession of stolen property.
