Gold Beach Police Assist Injured Osprey

Gold Beach Police responded Saturday, May 4th, to a call regarding reports of an Osprey that had been struck by a vehicle.

A Gold Beach Police Officer was dispatched and upon arrival it was determined that the Osprey had suffered a significant injury and was unable to fly.

A Gold Beach resident assisted the officer who was able to coordinate a response with Cascade Raptors out of Eugene to take the Osprey for treatment.

The Gold Beach Police Officer traveled north with the Osprey and met with an Officer from the Port Orford Police Department, who then  transferred the injured bird to the Bandon Police Chief, who kept the bird safe until Cascade Raptors arrived.
