A swarm of 5 earthquakes struck off the coast of Port Orford starting early Tuesday afternoon with the largest of the temblors registering 5.8 on the Richter scale.
The first quake struck early Tuesday afternoon 146 miles off the coast west of Port Orford at 1:15pm, registering 3.0 on the Richter scale and just over 6 miles deep.
The second quake was at 8:14pm, 103 miles off the coast of Port Orford, hitting 3.9 in magnitude.
The next in the series of quakes hit just 9 minutes later, 110 miles southwest of Port Orford with a magnitude of 5.8, Tuesday evening at 8:23pm.
This was followed minutes later with a 4.8 magnitude tremor 104 miles southwest of Port Orford at 8:25pm.
At 8:49pm, a 4.1 magnitude quake hit in the same area, 106 miles southwest of Port Orford.
No tsunami’s or tsunami warnings were generated.
