Early Monday evening, February 5th, a domestic assault was reported to Coos County Dispatch stating an assault with a weapon had occurred.
Upon arrival of first responding deputies, 30 year old Kassandra McIntyre was first contacted by deputies at the back of the RV park as the second deputy checked for the victim.
It was originally reported that McIntyre had allegedly assaulted the victim using a weapon and McIntyre was instructed that she was being detained while the investigation was ongoing and to place her hands behind her back.
McIntyre refused to listen and reached into a vehicle, resisted deputy efforts and encouraged her dog to bite the Deputy which then repeatedly bit the Deputy causing physical injury.
Deputies were able to subdue McIntyre without causing harm to her dog.
Concluding their investigation, deputies discovered that McIntyre had threatened and assaulted the victim, a domestic partner, using a ‘Gaff Hook.’
McIntyre was arrested for Domestic Menacing, Attempted Assault in the 2nd Degree, Disorderly Conduct, Attempted Assault on a Peace Officer, and Resisting Arrest and transported to the Coos County Jail, where she remains in custody.
The deputy was treated for injuries by Hospital Staff and released.
