Local winter sports programs are now moving into their second half, and another outstanding Brookings-Harbor High School student athlete has been chosen Barron’s ‘Star Student Athlete’. Student athletes are selected by their coach’s for their outstanding efforts in the sports arena, as well as their exemplary scholastic and community participation.
New Bruin boys varsity basketball coach, Luke Beaman, had the honor of choosing this weeks selection, junior, #12, Talon Pryor, point guard for coach Beaman this season.
Talon has participated as a two sport varsity athlete, on both the Bruin boys varsity basketball team in the winter, as well as the Bruins boys varsity baseball team for head coach Keith Wallin in the spring, working his way to team Captain on the boys varsity basketball team for his hard work and dedication.
This weeks selection is another exceptional example of the Barron’s Star Student Athlete program, showing leadership, competitiveness, and work ethic both in the class room as well as in the community, volunteering his time for 4H projects while balancing athletic participation and carrying a 3.9 GPA in college prep courses with the goal of focusing on business courses in college.
“Talon has proven to be an inspiring leader for the entire team,” coach Beaman said, “whether it’s during practice sessions or intense game moments, Talon’s ability to motivate his teammates is a testament to his exceptional leadership skills, consistently setting a high standard.”
Congratulations Talon, we are confident that you will continue to be successful in any endeavor you should choose to pursue.
Special thanks to corporate sponsors Barron’s Home Furnishings and In Motion Graphics who make this recognition possible.
