The high pressure system creating the potential for record breaking heat in the southwest will continue to circulate warm air into the northwest early in the holiday work week.
The National Weather Service has put a Heat Advisory in effect for much of northern California and south central and southwest Oregon, with temperatures forecast to reach triple digits in the Rogue, Illinois, and Applegate Valleys. Clear sunny skies are expected for the week, with early morning lows only getting to the low to mid 60’s, and high temperatures reaching over 100 degrees.
Along the coast, the Heat Advisory remains in effect, with clear sunny skies with very warm afternoon temperatures through Tuesday in southern Curry County from Pistol River southward and a few miles inland from the coast. Low temperatures will only get to the low 60’s for much of the coast with afternoon highs possibly reaching the low 80’s.
