Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to rural Central Point, Saturday, April 15th, regarding reports of shots fired early Saturday evening.
First responders learned of a physical altercation where a single shot was fired upon arrival.
The suspect, 49 year old Mario Baltazar Quirarte, of Medford, was arrested for first-degree attempted assault, menacing, and unlawful use of a weapon.
Quirarte was lodged in the Jackson County Jail and the handgun was seized as evidence.
This case is under further investigation and no other information will be released at this time.
