An officer with the Crescent City Police Department responded to a parking lot located at the intersection of Front Street and H Street in Crescent City, Wednesday, December 12th, regarding a possible stolen trailer.
During the investigation, 34 year old Lynn Vangieson was detained by the officer in connection with the stolen trailer. The officer then deployed K9, Sgt. Kostya, to conduct a “free air sniff” around Vangieson’s vehicle and alerted to the odor of narcotics within the vehicle.
A subsequent search of her vehicle resulted in the discovery and seizure of approximately 22 grams of suspected heroin, and two digital scales.
Vangieson was booked into the Del Norte County Jail for possession of a controlled substance for sales. The trailer was returned to the registered owner and the investigation is still ongoing.
