Just before 3:00am, rescue crews from Rural Metro Fire responded to the scene of a roll-over crash on U.S. Hwy. 199 near Wonder, very early Sunday morning, November 20th.
Upon arrival it was determined that the driver of the small SUV would need to be extricated from the crashed vehicle.
After extrication, the driver claimed no injuries, and was subsequently taken into custody by the Oregon State Police for suspicion of impairment.
The northbound lane of U.S. Hwy. 199 was blocked for about 1 hour.
Later that morning, units from Rural Metro Fire and the Illinois Valley Fire District were on the scene of a roll-over crash on U.S. Hwy. 199 near Hayes Hill just before 9:00am Sunday morning, November 20th.
The driver of a small pickup lost control and left the roadway before rolling the vehicle in the S-curves of Hayes Hill.
Oregon State Police and firefighters from Rural Metro Fire and the Illinois Valley Fire District found the truck over the guardrail with the cab crushed.
The driver had already self-extricated and was transported to the hospital with what appeared to be non life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters, along with units from Oregon State Police and Oregon Department of Transportation, worked to establish traffic control within the notorious section of Redwood Hwy that sees numerous wrecks each year. Southbound travel remained a single-lane until the vehicle was removed.
