More hot temperatures possibly challenging heat records are expected this Friday and Saturday prompting Heat Advisories to be issued by the National Weather Service, and although temperatures aren’t expected to reach heat records, high temperatures are forecast to reach triple digits in some areas.
The National Weather Service also issued Red Flag Warning for much of southern Oregon and northern California as critical fire weather conditions are expected from late Thursday evening into Saturday with strong, gusty east winds with very dry air could promote the rapid spread of any new/existing fires.
Inland valleys are forecast to see widespread haze and areas of smoke from local fires, under mostly clear skies with high temperatures near 105 or higher and a 5 to 10 mph variable windh. Overnight temperatures will be unseasonably warm Friday night and this will limit relief from the hot daytime temperatures.
High temperatures along the coast will be quite warm as well with high temperatures reaching well into the 80s and the upper 90’s under with areas of smoke bringing Air Quality Alerts along the coast from Port Orford north. Coastal areas in northern California may see some cloudiness and possibly areas of early morning drizzle and fog with high temperatures possibly reaching the upper 90’s in some areas.
