Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue (SAR) officials are trying to locate a person who made a report of suspicious circumstances on New Year’s Eve. On the afternoon of December 31, 2017, SAR received a secondhand report via Prospect Fire from a woman who saw a suspicious item in the Rogue River near Natural Bridge. The item was reported to possibly be a human body.
SAR teams searched the general area on January 1, 2018, but found nothing suspicious. JCSO has not received reports of any missing persons in the area recently.
SAR officials have limited details about the location of the sighting and no contact information for the woman — reportedly a woman named “Mara” who was passing through the area.
