Red Flag Warnings, Air Quality Alerts and Heat Advisories Forecast in Work Week Weather

The work week brings Air Quality Alerts, Red Flag Warnings and Heat Advisories issued by the National Weather Service as critical fire weather conditions are expected to continue with record challenging temperatures possible on Tuesday and Wednesday combined with gusty winds and low relative humidities that could again, promote the rapid growth of fires.

As the work week progresses, Wednesday afternoon could see upper level moisture move into the region, possibly generating thunderstorms, however, even though some upper level moisture is associated with this ridge, should any storms develop, little to no rain is expected.

In the valley, temperatures are expected to reach over 107 degrees under mostly clear skies, with widespread haze and patchy areas of smoke from surrounding fires. A northwest wind from 10 to 15 mph will lighten up light in the evening, but, could gust as high as 21 mph. Areas along the coast should experience warming under partly cloudy skies, with widespread haze and patchy smoke after 11:00pm and afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70’s possible.
