A Del Norte County Deputy patrolling in the area of Washington Blvd and Northcrest Dr. late Tuesday evening July 5th, and observed a small dirt bike cross the double yellow line and enter into the east bound lane approximately 9:50pm.
A traffic stop was initiated by the Deputy, and identified the rider of the dirt bike as 39 year old Maggie Tapia, of Crescent City. During the traffic stop it was discovered that Tapia was in possession of a small scale, ziplock bags, several cell phones and a substance that was suspected to be methamphetamine.
After further investigation it was determined to be 35.9 grams methamphetamine and Tapia was arrested and transported to the Del Norte County Jail, where she was booked on charges of possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of methamphetamine, probation violation, no registration and (driving on the wrong side of the roadway.
