Just before 9:40am, Saturday morning, June 25th, Del Norte Sheriff’s dispatch received a 911 call regarding a fully engulfed structure fire located on Cushing Ave. in Crescent City.
Del Norte Sheriff’s Deputies, the Crescent City Police Department, Crescent City Fire, Fort Dick Fire, Pelican Bay Fire and the Red Cross responded and quickly contained the fire and stopped it from spreading to nearby homes.
Anthony Armstrong
An investigation was conducted and it was discovered that there had been a dispute between tenants inside the residence and determined that the fire was the product of arson. All occupants inside the residence were accounted for with no injuries were reported, and deputies located the suspect and arrested 23 year old Anthony Armstrong.
Armstrong was transported to the Del Norte County Jail and charged with arson as well as being under the influence of a controlled substance and remains in custody at the Del Norte County Jail.
