On December 1, 2017, at approximately 7:50 AM, a single vehicle crash occurred on Foothill Blvd north of the Averill Parkway outside the city of Grants Pass in Josephine County.
A 1999 Jeep Cherokee was traveling southbound on Foothill Blvd. and failed to negotiate a curve. The driver overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The Jeep slid sideways until rolling over and coming to a stop on its side against a tree.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle. During the ejection, the driver’s left arm was amputated. The driver was transported to the Rogue Valley Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The driver, Julie Peek (69) of Rogue River, Oregon was the vehicle’s only occupant and was not wearing a safety belt.
