Azalea Boys Roll to 5th Straight

The Azalea boys basketball team and head coach Dustin Carmack hosted Sutherlin Thursday night, and ran away with their fifth straight win.

Conrad Watkins #5 driving for 2 of his 10 points in the game.

The AZ Bruins broke out early attacking the basket jumping out to a 14 point lead early in the first period and never trailed.

Christian Olmedo #52 taking the outside shot.
Hank Flescher #34 starting the offense had 5 points including a 3 pointer.

Defensively the AZ Bruins disrupted the Sutherlin offense from the inbound pass, denying passing lanes and keeping the Sutherlin offense from building any momentum.

Robert Hendrix #2 driving inside hit a 3 pointer.
Deryk Farmer #24 rising up from behind the arc for 3 of his 13 points.

Offensively, the AZ Bruin boys passing and ball handling allowed six players to score in the contest as the team put up 49 points in the game.

Tristan Long #14 led all scorers in the game with 14 points.
Bryson Perkins #12 fighting under the basket to get the shot off.

“Our team has showed great hustle, defense and teamwork this season and continue to bring a ton of energy to the court every game.” coach Carmack told the Compass after the game.

Neric Garcia #23 starting the AZ Bruin offense after the Sutherlin turnover.

Crescent Elk is next on the schedule, and will travel to Azalea next Tuesday for a 5:30 tip-off.
