Evidence of human trafficking and alleged prostitution was uncovered after a search warrant was served at “Six Star Massage” in Medford by a joint inter-agency law enforcement task force Wednesday afternoon, December 8th for allegedly being part of a multi-state human trafficking organization.
Medford Police Department detectives alongside the Southern Oregon Child Exploitation Team joint inter-agency task force executed the search warrant at the business. After a year-long investigation by the task force, the business was allegedly involved in illicit sexual activity and human trafficking, as the business is associated with massage parlors throughout Oregon, California, and Arizona.
Additional search warrants have been served at related massage businesses in Eugene, Grants Pass and Arizona.
During the serving of the search warrants, digital devices were seized, and will be forensically examined by the Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force for evidence of sex trafficking and prostitution, and investigators continue to interview possible witnesses and involved parties, as further investigation continues.
Community Works, a local domestic violence, sexual abuse, and sex trafficking resource center, provided the human trafficking victims with safe housing, emotional support, basic necessities and advocacy.
The Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force is a joint inter-agency task force that started in June of 2020 to combat child exploitation and human trafficking consisting of investigators from Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police, Medford Police Dept., Grants Pass Police Dept., the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Homeland Security Investigations.
