National Weather Service has announced that a Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 4:00 am Monday morning, November 20th, through 10:00 pm Monday night.
A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the Chetco Bar wildfire burn scar in Curry County. However, this does NOT include the cities of Brookings, Harbor, or Pistol River.
Heavy rainfall rates and 24-hour totals of 3 to 4 inches with up to 5 inches possible in higher terrain is expected.
Landslides and debris flows are possible during this flood event. People, structures, and roads located below steep slopes, in canyons and near the mouths of canyons may be at serious risk from rapidly moving landslides.
The Pacific Northwest will remain active in the precipitation department as an atmospheric river of moisture from the Pacific reaches the northern California coast on Monday. This deep plume of moisture will then target northern Oregon and western Washington by Tuesday as the frontal zone lifts northward. Some locations could get several inches of rainfall by Tuesday night.
