The Lady Bruins varsity soccer team finished their third game in the past 5 days Friday afternoon hosting the Marshfield Lady Pirates.
Coach Brian Carlson and his now 6-1 Lady Bruins started their week with 2-0 win in Crescent City taking on the Del Norte Lady Warriors.
The Lady Bruins then went on the road Wednesday to Coquille/Myrtle Point to take on the Lady Red Devils in the Lady Red Devils second game of the season. The Lady Bruins quickly took control of the game handing Coquille/Mrytle Point their second loss.
On Friday afternoon the Lady Bruins hosted Marshfield, playing the Lady Pirates for the second time in this season. The Lady Bruins scored early in the first half of play when senior striker Hannah James #5 took the pass from junior forward Zoe Carlson #11 and put the ball behind the Lady Pirate keeper.
The Lady Bruin passing game created many opportunities in front of the Marshfield goal, and Zoe Carlson would go on to score 4 times the game, once in the first half and then a hat-trick in the second half, giving the Lady Bruins their 3 straight win in 5 days.
“We took a lot of what we’ve worked on in practice and really applied to the game today” coach Carlson said Friday after the game. “It’s always nice when the players recognize that and see the result of their hard work paying dividends on the field.”
The Lady Bruins will be on the road for a Saturday afternoon game in North Bend to take on the Lady Bulldogs at 2:00pm. Coach Carlson and the Lady Bruins will be at home Monday afternoon to take on the Del Norte Lady Warriors at 5:00pm.
