As temperatures remain cooler inland, air quality warnings are present across much of southern Oregon. The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has issued an Air Pollution Advisory in the Curry, Douglas, Josephine, Jackson, Lake, and Klamath Counties in effect until further notice.
An upper level trough will continue to move through the region through Tuesday, with increased winds and very dry humidity levels. Widespread haze from surrounding wildfires and increasing clouds Monday evening will keep temperatures cooler with highs in the upper 80’s and low 90’s. Early morning lows will fall from the areas low 70’s recently to the low 60’s and even the mid 50’s by mid-week.
The coast will be under an Air Quality Alert as the upper level trough circulates regional smoke into the area and an unstable air mass that could possibly include a very slight chance of localized showers. The hazy skies will help keep coastal temperatures relatively low with highs reaching the low 70’s and lows getting down to the low 50’s.
