The stubborn front responsible for the high temperatures over the past few weeks continues to weaken and slowly move eastward. Temperatures cooled slightly over the past few days, however, hot temperatures could return.
Much of the inland valley is under an air quality alert regarding lingering smoke collecting in some areas from the many wildland fires surrounding the area.
Inland, temperatures are forecast to remain in the upper 90’s only to flirt with triple digits. Highs are expected in the upper 90’s possibly increasing to triple digits by the end of the weekend. Lows are forecast to remain the mid 60’s.
Patchy morning fog and damp misty mornings are expected to continue on the coast with the marine layer burning off before afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 60’s with lows dropping into the low 50’s overnight.
