Grants Pass Authorities Investigate Drive-By Shooting

Just before 9:45pm, Thursday evening June 10th, officers from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to NW Hawthorne regarding a report of multiple shots fired from a vehicle. The vehicle was reported to be driving away from the scene, northbound towards Vine Street.   Officers quickly began checking the area for any victims and the suspect vehicle. Officers contacted several witnesses, confirmed there were no injuries as witnesses reported the suspect vehicle to be a dark colored sedan. No further information on the suspect vehicle was available at that time.

Grants Pass Department of Public Safety Detectives responded to the scene to conduct further investigation with the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office who also assisted with searching the area for the suspect vehicle.  

This investigation is in its early stages with detectives continuing to follow up any leads. Further information will be released as it becomes available.   At this time, there is no indication this is a targeted attack and appears to be random in nature and the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety is asking for the public to be aware of this incident and to call to report any suspicious activity.
