On Saturday, May 15th, coach Jason Fulton and 10 athletes from the 2021 BHHS track team were invited to participate in 24 events at the 71st Grants Pass Meet. Again, on a spectacular day for a track meet, BHHS track out-shined the weather.
Performing against primarily larger school programs in the valley, the rise in competition produced another day of personal records, and now 8 BHHS athletes will be headed to the State Meet in Harrisburg to represent the Bruins in 8 events, this Tuesday.
The Bruins will also send Uriel Cortez, Jake Beaman, Cody Lee,and Miguel Ramos with Kyan Meyers as an alternate to compete in the Men’s 4 x100m relay. The Bruins have finished the 1/4 mile relay on the podium all season long with a season best time of 46.76.
“They have worked hard and now get to enjoy the reward.” coach Fulton told the Compass. “I would like to say thank you to all the parents that were able to come and enjoy their athletes compete, and a big shout out from the team to Mr. and Mrs. Beaman for providing water and meals to the athletes. A special thanks to Coaches Darrin Daily and Matt Steendahl for the hard work with the athletes in such a crazy season.”
