Two Curry County Men Arrested for Online Sexual Corruption of a Child

During the month of April 2021 on different days, Curry County Sheriff’s Office Detectives with assistance from a Task Force including the Oregon State Police and Brookings Police Department conducted an operation to detect and intercept adults online who are seeking out children and attempting to engage them in sexualized chat and or meet them in person for sex.

The investigation yielded five adult males in the Southern Oregon area from 21 to 71 years of age that engaged in sexualized chat to include sending pornographic pictures and videos to a person they believed to be a child.

Two of the men arranged to meet in person to engage in sexual intercourse and deviant sexual intercourse with a person they believed to be a child under the age of 16. Fortunately, when they arrived at a scheduled location, they were met with Deputies and Detectives from the Task Force including the Oregon State Police, Brookings Police Department and the Curry County Sheriff’s Office.

Those men were 71-year-old Robert Chester Wittren and 47-year-old Dominique Jason Mclean both reside or have temporary residences in Curry County.

Both men were arrested and lodged at the Curry County Jail for the crimes of Online Sexual Corruption of a Child 1st degree, Online Sexual Corruption of a Child 2nd degree, Luring a Minor.

Probable cause exists and arrest warrants are forthcoming for the three other adult men. Upon their arrests the Sheriff’s Office will issue another press release.

The Curry County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind and caution parents that their children’s electronic devices, to include gaming systems give their child a doorway to the rest of the world. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of people looking to exploit them in one form or another. Please educate your children about the dangers that exist online and monitor their use of devices connected to the internet.
