Harms No-Hitter Leads Lady Bruins to Decisive Win over Lady Panthers

Gracie Harms made her first start since being injured throwing 5 innings, striking-out 12 in a no-hit shut-out.

The Lady Bruins were home Friday afternoon to take on the Lady Panthers from Gold Beach. Senior right-hander Gracie Harms returned to the circle to start for coach Tony Baron for the first time since being out of the line-up after an injury 3 games ago.

Sophomore Tristan Brouillatd #1 scored 2 runs for the Lady Bruins.

Harms picked up right where she left off retiring the first three Lady Panthers to step to the plate, striking out the side swinging. The Lady Bruins came to the plate in the bottom of the 1st and put together 2 triples, a double and 7 walks, to take a 7-0 lead after one.

Freshman Sonja Wraith #19 beating the play at 3rd.

Bruin pitching and defense would only allow a handful of Lady Panthers on the basepaths, however, the Bruins would break up any offensive consistency the Lady Panthers tried to put together and never really let the Lady Panthers mount a scoring threat.

Junior Hannah James #5 went 1 for 2 with triple scoring once.

The Lady Panther defense came out in the bottom of the 2nd and held the Lady Bruin offense scoreless with a strike-out, a pop-out, and a fielders choice after the Bruins threatened sending 6 batters to the plate.

Senior Lady Bruin shortstop Lexi Schofield #14 went 3 for 3, with a triple, 5 RBI and a run.

Multiple Lady Bruins had multiple hits in the game with Jordan Crosby and Rockette Marrington both recording doubles, and Hannah James and Lexi Schofield both hitting triples. Six Lady Bruins had RBI in the game, with senior Lexi Schofield leading the way with 5.

Sophomore Rockette Marrington #21 went 1 for 2 with double, 2 RBI and scored once.

But Harms proved to be too much for the Panther offense, throwing a full game, 5 inning, striking-out 12 in a no-hit shut-out giving the Lady Bruins the 14-0 win.
