Just before 8:00am Saturday morning, January 23rd, Deputies from the Josephine County Sheriff.’s Office and the Oregon State Police were dispatched to Demaray Drive just west of Grants Pass for a motor vehicle accident involving a 10-yard dump truck and a 50cc scooter.
Upon investigation, Deputies determined that 72 year old Kenneth Law was operating a 50cc scooter in dense fog to reach a nearby convenience store and attempted to cross Demaray Drive in front of the dump truck.
Despite efforts of emergency medical personnel, Law was pronounced deceased at the scene. The operator of the dump truck has been cooperative with investigators and criminal charges are not expected in this case.
