Suspect Sought in Shooting

On Wednesday, January. 6th, just after 3:30am, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to reports of a gunshot victim in Hoopa.

A 40 year old male victim with a gunshot wound was located upon Deputies arrival to the scene. Deputies then rendered aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital in serious condition and is expected to survive his injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies are seeking 29 year old Byron Dean Titus, of Hoopa, in connection to this case. Titus is described as an American Indian male adult, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, 185 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes and is believed to be armed and dangerous. If you see Titus, do not approach, but call 9-1-1.
