Based on meat recovery and domoic acid results, and in consultation with the Oregon Department of Agriculture, the Oregon commercial crab industry, and California and Washington fishery managers, the Oregon commercial Dungeness crab season south of Cape Falcon, just below Astoria, to the Oregon/California border is set to open.
The crabbing crews can set gear beginning Sunday, December 13th, with the first Hold Inspections December 15th. Crews will be able to pull up their first pots Wednesday, December 16th.
