Just before 4:30pm Sunday, September 6th, Deputies responded to a disturbance involving three male subjects attempting to lure children into a vehicle at Jubilee Park in Cave Junction Oregon.
When Josephine County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene, two of the men involved were being detained at Jubilee Park by community members who advised Deputies that a third man fled the scene into Cave Junction.
As the man fled the scene heading towards Downtown Cave Junction, members of the community followed from a distance providing the subject’s location until Deputies contacted him.
After a full investigation Deputies were advised the subjects were offering the minor money and candy to get into a vehicle with them. When the child refused, they commanded the child to get into the vehicle.
32-year-old Justin Taylor of Cave Junction, 44-year-old Sam Cottrell of Grants Pass and 28-year-old Manuel Valerio-Barboza of Bay Point, California, were arrested on multiple charges including Kidnapping II and Luring a Minor.
