Oregon Breaks Single Day COVID-19 Cases Again

Oregon continues to see rises in cases adding over 2,000 new cases in the past week with it’s largest ever daily total Thursday with 437 new confirmed and presumptive cases of COVID-19. Now, approximately one month after massive demonstrations, Oregon’s northern counties continue to struggle with new cases as the recent spikes been have been attributed to workplace outbreaks and community spread according to the Oregon Health Authority.

Curry County reported that it remains at 0 current cases of COVID-19 while the county has reported testing 835 individuals, with 826 negative tests, 7 total positive cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic as of Friday morning July 17th.

Del Norte County Department of Health and Human Services reported testing 3,109 individuals with 62 confirmed cases, 0 hospitalizations and 0 deaths in Del Norte County as of Friday morning July 9th.

Humboldt County to the south of Del Norte County reports testing 13,142 individuals with 178 total cases, 28 active cases, 146 recoveries and 4 deaths adding 23 and 16 hospitalizations.

Coos County to the north, reported testing 3,176 individuals with 3,128 negative tests, 60 total positive cases of COVID-19, 5 recoveries and 0 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

Josephine County reports testing 5,311 individuals with 5,260 negative with 65 total positive cases of COVID-19 of which 39 are recovered cases, and 1 death.

Jackson County went into the week testing 14,915 individuals with 14,737 negative test results, totaling 203 total cases of COVID-19 and 114 recovered cases as of Friday morning July 17th.

The jump in both Josephine and Jackson counties has been and continues to be traced to ‘parties’ according to health officials.
