AZ Bruins Continue to Roll

Coach Fulton and his 8th grade AZ Bruin basketball team took on Siuslaw Tuesday evening after roughing up Bandon last Thursday.

Ethan Orman #43 hitting one of his three 3 pointers in the first led all scorers with 14 points in the game.

Ethan Orman #43 led the way after hitting three 3 pointers in the first period for 9 of his 11 first quarter points. Wyatt Harms #32 hit two buckets and #45 Evan Orman scored 4 points in the first as the AZ Bruins rang up 25 points in the first.

The AZ Bruin defense contested all loose balls and pressed Siuslaw from the opening tip disrupting the Siuslaw offense and allowed only 4 Siuslaw points taking a 25-4 lead going into the second period.

In the first period 5 different AZ Bruins scored. In the second, Coach Fulton drew up offense for five different players to get on the board in the second. Jonathan Rivas #35, and #31 Blake Delainey both led AZ Bruins scorers in the second hitting for 4 points as the AZ Bruins put up another 15 points while holding Siuslaw to just 5 points in the second to take a commanding 40-9 lead into the second half.

After the break Siuslaw’s #24 went off for 10 points off of 5 baskets in the key. Siuslaw also played excellent defense holding the AZ Bruins to just 6 points from 3 different AZ Bruin shooters closing the gap to 46-20.

In the third period the AZ Bruins unleashed the offense as AZ Bruin guard Kyler Christensen #25 hit for 4 points. Five other Bruins added to the AZ Bruin score total in the fourth period as the AZ Bruins wrapped up another convincing win 61-30.

The AZ Bruins will be on the road to North Bend Wednesday for another tune-up before the Jaycee’s Tournament this Friday and Saturday.
