Post-season play…starts TODAY !!!

Lady Bruins Head Coach Chris Schofield and his 7-3 #5 ranked Lady Bruin basketball team will take the hardwood tonight in a battle for their post-season lives when the 6-4 #12 ranked Cascade Christian Lady Challengers step off the bus.

Senior Guard Avana Pettus #10 set the pace early in their last meeting with 7 points in the first quarter and 11 points in the game.

The Lady Bruins and the Challengers split regular season play with each team winning at home. The Lady Bruins fell early in regular season play in mid-January in a close contest that the Challengers took 40-43.

When the Challengers made the trip from Medford at the end of January, it was again a hometown battle decided by 5 points with the Lady Bruins taking the win 44-39.

Alonna Nalls #2 will be key with her tough man defense and work under the boards.

TONIGHT, the Lady Bruins will meet up with the Lady Challengers again to decide who will move on in post season play. With both teams winning at home in the regular season in matches decided by less than 5 points, tonights match-up with all its implications, should be a close fought battle with an entire season at stake.

Senior point guard Sidney Alexander #11 had 5 points in the 4th in the match-up, including a clutch 3 pointer that put the Lady Bruins up with 1:14 left in the game.

The Lady Bruins will have HOMEFIELD advantage, home cooking and the comfort of their own beds. But the home-field advantage is nothing if Brookings-Harbor can not fill every seat at Bruins arena tonight at 7:00pm.
