On Sunday, Feb 16th, just before 4:30am, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a residence in McKinleyville for the report of a burglary in progress.
According to the press release from the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, the victim told dispatchers that she woke up to find an unknown male subject in her home. When confronted, the suspect fled. The victim was able to provide a suspect description and identified items missing from the home.
While responding to the residence, deputies located a male subject matching the suspect’s description riding a bicycle on School Road. The subject, 35 year old Gregory Louis Williams Jr., was found to be on probation with a search clause. During a search of Williams Jr. and an associated bag, deputies located drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. Deputies also located electronics and jewelry that had been stolen from the home.
Williams Jr. was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of probation.
