Violent impact with a power pole sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash on Elk Lane Saturday afternoon, February 1st.
The pickup hit the pole sideways with enough force to significantly damage the truck and the pole, however no powerlines were severed or hit the ground.
Rural Metro Fire and American Medical Response-Josephine County secured the scene and treated the passengers before they were transported to Three Rivers Hospital. The driver denied any injury.
An engine from Grants Pass Department of Public Safety also assisted at the scene. The Josephine County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash, which occurred on a relatively straight stretch of road.
