Early Thursday evening, the BHHS Bruin wrestling team started their season with a home match-up against Illinois Valley.
The season continued Saturday morning as the Bruin grapplers traveled to Del Norte High School for the Battle of the Border Invitational. Talking with Bruin Wrestling Head Coach Lonnie Nalls Saturday he said, “We performed much better than our opening meet Thursday, we won some matches and I’m overall pleased with out outing.”
At 145 lbs – first year Bruin wrestler Joshua Bacus placed 5th
At 152 lbs – first year Bruin wrestler Josiah Hath
At 160 lbs – second year Bruin wrestler Quinn Galindo
170 lbs exhibition match BHHS Thomas Farley versus BHHS William Miller
At Heavy Weight – Senior Averi Winn took first place after the pin.
At 195 – first year Bruin wrestler Alexandra Madrid was Champion of her division
At 125 lbs – Senior Fourth year wrestler Ben Buehler placed 6th
At 132 lbs – first year Bruin wrestler Gavin Mills
