If we see less than 0.1 inches of rain over the next 7 days, which is likely, we’ll have the 7th driest start to the water year (October 1st to November 17th) on record.

Although there’s no statistically significant connection between the number of consecutive dry days in Oct/Nov and the amount of precipitation expected in Nov-Mar, the data for 13 years with similar significant dry stretches does show, on average, drier than normal cool seasons after such a dry stretch.
