Just after 8:30am Tuesday morning, October 15th, a 911 call was received regarding a small pick-up over the side and down an embankment of Hwy. 199.
Units from the California Highway Patrol were immediately dispatched to the scene north of the intersection of Little Jones Creek Rd. and Hwy. 199.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a Mazda was traveling northbound on Hwy. 199 at an unknown speed when for reasons still under investigation the vehicle drifted to the right and off the roadway, impacting a tree.
Both the driver and a male passenger suffered fatal injuries from the crash. There is an ongoing investigation at this time and it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
