The Azalea Bruins football team hosted Bandon Tuesday evening and showed that they have grown into a team to be reckoned with. .
Azalea wasted no time asserting themselves after Jordan Hatcher #5 took the hand off on the sweep to the left and outraced the Bandon defense 30 yards into the endzone giving Azalea the early lead.
The Azalea defense was just too much for Bandon, and allowed only one Bandon touchdown in the game.
But it was big plays all day for Azalea, with quarterback Justin Monkman #12 taking the next Bruin possession into the endzone again after a broken up quarterback keep play running 45 yards to pay dirt.
Just before the half, Monkman hit Gavin Conduracki #21 with an outlet pass to the flat and Conduracki took care of the rest using his speed to outrun his defender on a 45 yard pass, catch and run into the endzone.
Azalea will close out their season next Tuesday, in Gold Beach, October 15th, in a rematch after Gold Beach shut out Azalea 0-12 earlier this season.
