ODFW Opens Razor Clamming

The annual Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) razor clam conservation closure has ended as of September 30th.

Razor clamming is now OPEN from the Columbia River to the north jetty of the Umpqua River (at Reedsport) and OPEN from the Coquille River (at Bandon) to the California border.

Help protect juvenile razor clams

Tomorrow begins a series of some of the summer's lowest tides, which means excellent clamming opportunities. A recent spawning event means there are some juvenile razor clams out there. It's super important to make sure you're digging for larger razor clams by looking for shows that are nickel-sized or bigger. It's also important to keep the first 15 clams you encounter.
