After being on the road since Thursday in McKinleyville and then two matches in Grants Pass at the North Valley Tournament over the weekend, the varsity Lady Bruin volleyball team took to the court in an unusual Monday night match-up with local northern rival Gold Beach Panthers.
Lady Bruin head coach Lorinda Shew’s team seems to have an issue with local rivals as they showed September 10th with a 3-1 win against southern rival Del Norte Lady Warriors.
Monday nights match against the Gold Beach Panthers was no different. The Lady Bruins again rose to the occasion and handled the Lady Panthers in 3 straight sets. Offensive and defensive play at the net was again strong and back row play was quick and decisive as the lady Bruins went on to improve their overall record to 3-4.
We will see TONIGHT if the Lady Bruins will be able to rise up against a rival again as they travel to their rival to the south, the Del Norte Lady Warriors in a rematch of the Lady Bruins 3-1 win just 7 days ago.
The Lady Bruins will match up against the Del Norte Lady Warriors TONIGHT at the home of the Lady Warriors in Crescent City at 6:30pm.
