Very early Monday morning, August 12, just before 3:30am, Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a motorcycle crash on Rossanley Drive.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by 57 year old Stephen Coolidge from Jacksonville, was traveling west on Rossanley Drive (Hwy 238) when he struck and killed a cow that was in the roadway.
Coolidge sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Hwy 238 was closed for over two hours following the crash.
