Just before 9:00pm Sunday evening, the Medford Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash. It was reported as a single motor vehicle crash into a utility pole. The initial investigation revealed that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of the vehicle.
At this time it is believed that this event was associated with a race between multiple vehicles. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a brick wall in the area of Central and Boyd.
The vehicle was occupied by two individuals who both received serious injuries in the crash. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital and are in critical condition at this time.
The Serious/Fatal Traffic Accidents Reconstruction team and a Medford detective responded to assist. The case is currently under investigation.
